Quantum phenomena at ultra-low temperatures, BCS-BEC crossover and the unitarity limit

Abstract. In the first part of the talk I shall review the main macroscopic quantum phenomena at ultra-low temperatures: superconductivity in metals and cuprates, superfluidity in helium 4, and Bose-Einstein condensation in dilute atomic gases. In the second part of the talk I shall discuss the BCS-BEC crossover and the unitarity limit of dilute and ultra-cold fermionic atoms.
