About the first landing of the man on the Moon 40 years ago

Abstract: This step is the most distinctive achievement of the mankind without precedence. I will discuss historical background within the context of the cold war. The last visit on the Moon was by Apollo 17 in 1972. The plan to visit the Moon again is still not worked out, but it might happen within 5-6 years. The funding is still not there. The Chinese might be on the Moon before western man. But - so what?!
