Introduction to Sociophysics - Social Free Energy

Abstract: Social and other complex systems show a myriad of interesting phenomena. Presently, there exists a tendency to link these phenomena to a small number of underlying principles. One of the ways to develop the tendency - often referred to as the sociophysics - is to utilise concepts from theoretical physics, in particular thermodynamics. In this presentation, the basis for sociophysics is given. Special care is given to description of the social free energy. It is the measure of all resources which can be transferred within the system without changing its state significantly, and a quantity analogue to free energy in physics.
