Abstract Werner Heisenberg was born on 5 December 1901, and that is why we come together to give a memory seminar on 5 December 2001. Heisenberg's marvellous contributions to quantum mechanics are closely related to the spectral theory of the so-called Heisenberg commutation relations. John von Neumann has brought this basic idea by Werner Heisenberg to a new main contribution in mathematics. In this talk, we learn about discrete Heisenberg algebras which in terms of functional analysis are treated by using the theory of multilateral Jacobi operators. The impact of the studied discretizations on the formulation of difference Schrödinger equations and their solutions is elucidated for several examples of difference Schrödinger oscillators.
Seminarsko predavanje bo v sredo, 5. decembra 2001 ob 15:15 uri
