From house number 26 going north along Strossmayerjeva ulica there is presently a housing complex that was formerly occupied by a Celestine nunnery. Its first part is the former Sentpavelski dvor (The St. Paul's Mansion) [9], where the monastery in St. Pavel's, in Carinthia, used to have its offices to oversee their vineyards and mountain estates outside the town. The Celestine nuns bought the mansion in 1759 and added to it the Church of Mary's Annunciation. When the nunnery was dismantled in 1782, the large building served as a military headquarters. Later it provided housing for a military regiment, and still later served as a factory that produced a coffee substitute, and a regional Records Office.
