The correllation analysis of the human EEG and NIRS data is performed. We show that the spectral statistics of the underlying correlation matrix ensemble can be linked to the medical diagnosis of the given patient. Similar analysis is done also for data with chanels shifted by varying time lag. In this case the the analysis of (nonsymmetric) correlation matrix uncovers certain causal processes in the brain that participate in the signal generation.
